Beyonce dethrones Taylor Swift as Highest Paid Musician for the year

‘Dreamgirls’ star Beyonce completely overshadowed her fellow singer Taylor Swift to become the highest earning female musician for the year 2017 as per the list released by Forbes recently. Her pre-tax earnings brought her counterpart under complete chaos with a whopping $105 million.

Forbes attributes her accomplishment in the year 2017 to the sixth album ‘Lemonade’ released by her last year. The success of lemonade gave flares to stars with a variety of genres including Pop, reggae, blues, rock, hip-hop. The magazine also gives credit to her ‘Formation World Tour’ which grossed a staggering quarter of a billion dollars. The success became even more special as she and her husband Jay Z welcomed twins Rumi and Sir Carter in June.

Queen Bey holds a firm spot on the top with a big margin over second placed Adele with a huge margin of around $30 million at an income of $69 million. The ‘Hello’ star managed to come into the equation with a first of the type tour since 2011 to get back into rhythm. Surprisingly, Taylor Swift dropped down to third place with a not-so-good year grossing around $44 million and which came with a huge question marks as her recently released album ‘Reputation’, which is already breaking charts has not been included into the reckoning as Forbes calculates the income between June 1, 2016, to June 1, 2017. Jennifer Lopez rounds out the top five with $38 Million boosted by a standing Sin City gig, as well as the new show ‘World of Dance’, where she serves as both the judge and producer as well.

Forbes does not also calculate fees charged by agents, managers, and Lawyers. This apprehension makes Taylor, the gold medallist from 2016 satisfy with a bronze this year. Well, this is not a big surprise for her as she has the strongest of the chances to be back at the top when the calculation includes income from ‘Reputation’. The data was gathered by Forbes from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the RIAA and interviews with Industry Insiders.
